Living in Hadapsar, Pune: Connectivity, Jobs, Schools and New Homes

Hadapsar, east Pune: where it is, how it connects by road and rail, the IT parks, schools, hospitals and malls nearby, and what new flats cost.

Hadapsar is one of east Pune's largest and busiest suburbs. It is an old village on the Pune–Solapur highway that grew into a hub of IT parks, industry and large townships: Magarpatta City, Amanora Park Town and now Hadapsar Central. This guide covers where it is, how it connects, the jobs, schools, hospitals and shopping nearby, and what new homes cost.

In short: Hadapsar suits buyers who work in Magarpatta, Kharadi or along the Solapur highway and want established schools, hospitals and malls close by. New launches such as Palladio Presidential Towers ask ₹1.35 crore and up for a 2 BHK. The main drawback is traffic on the Solapur highway and at Hadapsar Gadital at peak hours.

Where Hadapsar is

Hadapsar lies about 8 to 10 km east of central Pune, along the Pune–Solapur highway (NH 65), within the Pune Municipal Corporation. Its main pincode is 411028. Around it are Mundhwa and Keshav Nagar to the north, Kharadi to the north-east, Manjari to the east, Fursungi to the south-east and Wanowrie and Fatima Nagar to the west.

Within Hadapsar, the main pockets are Hadapsar Gadital (the old centre, with the bus depot), Malwadi, Sasane Nagar, Hadapsar Industrial Estate, and the two townships of Magarpatta City and Amanora Park Town. Hadapsar Central, east of Amanora, is the newest: a community shared by Sai Proviso's Leisure Town and Vilas Javdekar's Palladio Presidential Towers.

  • Rail: Hadapsar has its own railway station, and Pune station is about 10 km away.
  • Metro: the nearest working metro stations are on the Ramwadi line through Kalyani Nagar.
  • Air: Pune airport at Lohegaon is reached through Kharadi or Kalyani Nagar.

Jobs

Hadapsar's biggest employer cluster is Magarpatta City, with its Cybercity IT park. SP Infocity is at Fursungi just to the south-east, and EON IT Park and World Trade Center are in Kharadi, a short drive north. The Serum Institute of India has its campus in Hadapsar, and the Hadapsar Industrial Estate houses manufacturing and service firms.

  • For: jobs at Magarpatta, Kharadi and along the Solapur highway; schools, hospitals and malls already in place; townships with their own open spaces; and a railway station.
  • Against: heavy traffic on the Solapur highway and around Hadapsar Gadital at peak hours, no metro station inside Hadapsar yet, and dense older neighbourhoods off the main roads.
  • Tip: drive your daily route at rush hour before you buy, and check which entrance and road a project uses.
